"Varsity Faith" is a term that draws a distinction between two kinds of faith offered to students.
On the one hand, there is the kind of faith ("Juvenile Faith" if you want to brand it) that is built on pep-rallies and superficial moralisms. This kind of faith is more likely to give way when it leaves the safe confines of the youth group and encounters the critiques and challenges of academic arguments and life experiences.
On the other hand, there is the kind of faith ("Varsity Faith") that is built on examining and embodying the Christian message. This kind of faith is more likely to stand firm when it emerges from the youth group and encounters those same critiques and challenges.
Varsity Faith is:
- Thoughtful
- Humble
- Practical
- Intentional
- Hopeful
Church leaders have many responsibilities that can make it difficult to devote the time necessary to prepare content that can creatively and effectively inform, challenge, and inspire students. And content that is less-than-adequate doesn't enable students to continue in the faith when they encounter the critiques and challenges that inevitably come their way after high school. This is evidenced by the various survey data that reports somewhere between 65-80% of students leave the faith within 4 years following high school graduation.
You want something more than that for the students in your ministry.
For that reason, Varsity Faith Resources is here to provide you with quality resources that will help you teach students the Christian message. Each sermon single or sermon series provides you with full text transcripts, outlines for students/leaders, and graphics to enhance your presentation.
All of the files are available through instant download, and fully editable so you can tailor them for your specific ministry context.
These materials, coupled with your relational investment in their lives, will help instruct, deepen, and enrich the faith of the students in your ministry. Together we can ensure that when students encounter critiques and challenges to Christianity, they will meet them with Varsity Faith.
