About Varsity Faith

Posted by Trevor

I want to help you create and communicate compelling content that makes a lasting difference in students' lives.

Church leaders have many responsibilities that can make it difficult to devote the time necessary to prepare content that can creatively and effectively inform, challenge, and inspire students. And content that is less-than-adequate doesn't enable students to continue in the faith when they encounter the critiques and challenges that inevitably come their way after high school. This is evidenced by the various survey data that reports somewhere between 65-80% of students leave the faith within 4 years following high school graduation.

You want something more than that for the students in your ministry. So do I.

I've been there. So I've put together some resources to help you on your way.

[Blog]
The blog features thoughts at the intersection of life and ministry. These reflections are intended to stir your imagination about your vocation, your church, your students, and your faith. The "Youth Ministry" category is a good place to start.

[Sermons]
I know what it's like to stare at a blank screen (or blank page) wondering what you're going to talk about in a few days. Each sermon series has full text transcripts, outlines for students/leaders, and graphics to enhance your presentation. All of the files are available through instant download, and fully editable so you can tailor them for your specific ministry context. Our hope is not that you would say what we say, but that your own thinking and teaching is informed and improved by these resources - and that your screen won't stay blank for long after you've looked through the material!

These materials, coupled with your relational investment in their lives, will help to instruct, deepen, and enrich the faith of the students in your ministry.

    Trevor,
I have to tell you, I was impressed when I voted for you to become our new youth minister and the more I get to know you, listen to you and watch you; the more impressed I become. I want to praise God for bringing you to us and thank Him for what is to come because of your service and devotion. God bless you and I will continue to pray for you and your family. I'm thankful for you!
